In The Know: How MSLs engage with physicians

There is no question that Medical Science Liaison (MSL) professionals in the US and Europe are adopting new strategies and tactics for engaging with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and prescribing physicians in valuable scientific exchange. Critically, in order to build and maintain successful relationships with these key influencers, MSLs must choose the right channel and the right time to engage.

In a survey conducted last year, 100 MSLs were asked about the number of KOL/HCP interactions an individual MSL has in a typical month, which channels they use, and the percentage of time they spend on each type of engagement (see Figure 1).
