China adds 148 drugs to key insurance list - (London South East via NewsPoints Desk)

  • Chinse regulators have added 148 drugs to its list of medicines covered by basic medical insurance schemes, as reported London South East Tuesday.

  • The treatments added to the list by China's National Healthcare Security Administration include AstraZeneca's Kombiglyze and Merck & Co.'s Janumet for diabetes.

  • Other drugs added to the list included treatments for cancers, rare diseases, chronic diseases and paediatric diseases.

  • Meanwhile, 150 drugs were removed from the list that were considered to have little clinical value or that could be replaced by better alternatives.
