  • Dutch healthcare institute Zorginstituut Nederland told Financieele Dagblad on Monday that insurers should stop paying for expensive drugs if pharmaceutical companies continue to refuse to disclose how they determine the price, reported DutchNews.nl.
  • In particular, Zorginstituut Nederland has recommended the spinal muscular atrophy drug Spinraza, which is priced at 250 000 euros per patient annually, not be covered by insurance unless manufacturers cut the price by 85 percent.
  • Zorginstituut Nederland chairman Arnold Moerkamp said he thinks officials should seriously consider not funding drugs, despite the impact on patients.
