Brazil health regulator Anvisa allows Chinese COVID-19 vaccine trial - (This is Money via NewsPoints Desk)

  • Brazil’s health regulator Anvisa approved clinical trials of Sinovac’s coronavirus vaccine candidate on Friday, as reported in This is Money.
  • According to Sao Paulo state Governor Joao Doria, the study, led by Instituto Butantan, has already registered 9000 volunteers.

  • Trials will be conducted by 12 research centres in six states: Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Brasilia, Rio Grande do Sul and Parana.

  • The agreement with Sinovac also includes the transference of technology to produce the vaccine locally.
