A Brazilian drugmaker is looking to seek emergency-use authorisation of Russia's Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in the second half of February, as reported in the National Post.
Fernando de Castro Marques, chief executive at União Química Farmacêutica Nacional, said the first doses of the vaccine might be available next month, once the company secured approval from Brazilian health regulator Anvisa.
Production of Sputnik V is scheduled to begin in Brazil in January, according to Castro, and once at full capacity, he said União will be able to make 8 million doses per month at a facility in central Brazil.
