The Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency approved the emergency use of Sinovac Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine, ABC News reported on Wednesday.
Health minister Fahrettin Koca said Turkey's vaccination programme would begin on January 14, starting with healthcare workers.
The first shipment vaccine, consisting of 3 million doses, arrived in the country late last month.
Turkey is scheduled to receive a total of 50 million doses.
Turkey had previously announced that it has agreed to procure 4.5 million doses of the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, but President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that talks with BioNTech were ongoing.
