FDA adds India's Covaxin to authorized COVID-19 vaccines - (The Philippine Star via NewsPoints Desk)

  • The Philippines’ FDA has granted full emergency use authorization to Bharat Biotech’s COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin, The Philippine Star reported.

  • FDA director general Eric Domingo said the Indian company last week submitted a certificate for good manufacturing practices, a requirement for the importation of its vaccine.

  • Covaxin is a two-dose inactivated vaccine cleared for use in individuals aged 18 and older. The vaccine was reported to have an efficacy of 77.8% based on data from a Phase III trial.
