- The European Commission has approved Pfizer's agreement to acquire GlaxoSmithKline's meningococcal vaccines business, as reported London South East Friday.
- In the deal, an Irish subsidiary of Pfizer will gain ownership of GlaxoSmithKline's Nimenrix and Mencevax vaccines businesses in the UK.
- The Commission concluded that the transaction will have no material effect on competition because of the absence of overlap between the parties.
